Marilyn MaderaMarilyn Madera, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practitioner

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I believe primary care is about much more than treating an illness—it is about building meaningful relationships, listening without judgment, and empowering patients to take an active role in their health. My approach is rooted in compassion, evidence-based practice, thoroughness, and advocacy, with the goal of creating a space where every patient feels heard, respected, and comfortable discussing even the most difficult concerns.

My passion for nursing began early in life. As the child of immigrant parents, I learned from a young age the importance of using my voice to advocate for and support those in need. My mother has been my greatest inspiration. She had medical training as a young adult but ultimately chose to dedicate herself to raising her family after marriage. Her compassion, strength, and desire to care for others inspired me to carry that passion forward and pursue a career in nursing.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University in 2012 and went on to build much of my nursing career in the care of patients with cancer and blood disorders. Those experiences shaped the way I practice today, teaching me the importance of seeing the whole person behind a diagnosis, communicating clearly, and partnering with patients and their families through vulnerable and often complex moments. In 2018, I also became certified in aesthetics, further expanding my clinical interests and appreciation for the relationship between health, confidence, and overall well-being. I earned my Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2024.

As a primary care provider, I have a particular passion for women’s health and preventive medicine and enjoy caring for women throughout the many stages of life. My clinical interests include preventive care, health education, lifestyle medicine, weight management, mental health, adolescent care, health promotion, and hormone replacement therapy. I strive to approach each patient as an individual, taking the time to understand their goals, concerns, lifestyle, and unique health needs. I believe the best care is collaborative; patients should feel like active participants in their healthcare rather than simply recipients of it.

Outside of medicine, I am an Arizona native, an avid traveler, and foodie. I am happiest anywhere there is a beach and enjoy reading, going to the movies, and spending time with my husband, family, and friends. My husband and I married in 2022 and share our home with our baby Shih Tzu, Toby. I consider myself a forever student and believe that continuing to learn, both professionally and personally, is one of the most rewarding parts of life.

It is a privilege to care for my patients, and I look forward to building long-term relationships rooted in trust, education, and partnership. My goal is for every patient to leave an encounter feeling heard, informed, supported, and confident in the plan for their health.
